FORT William moved off the bottom of the league table last week but couldn’t quite make it three in a row.

The Fort defeated Strathspey-Thistle 4-1 last Wednesday evening taking them off the foot of the table.

Iain MacLellan opened the scoring early on for the hosts, and Michael Corbett increased the lead for the Fort shortly after making it 2- 0.

Strathspey managed to claw one back just before half-time, making it 2-1 at the break.

But the Fort came out fighting, and top scorer Scottie Davidson made it 3-1 with a header, before Corbett scored his second goal, giving the home side a 4-1 win.

And after two home wins in a row, the Fort were feeling optimistic about their weekend match against high-flying Brora Rangers.

Brora scored two in the first 15 minutes, but Scottie Davidson managed to pull one back for the home side just before the break.

It wasn’t enough, however, and Brora went on to score another three after half-time.
