Sean MacIntyre
SNP, ward four
I have lived in the Oban area all my life, and I am married with children and grandchildren. I have run my own small business in Oban and surrounding area for 20 years.
I believe involvement and participation in local politics is essential to improve our communities from the ground up and I have been active in participating in local politics for a very long time.
I was involved in Soroba Community Association during the years I raised my family there, helped fundraise for Soroba Community Centre and was chairman of the Board of Enterprise. I am currently chairman of Dunbeg Community Council.
Through my work, which brings me into contact with a huge range of people from all walks of life, I know on a day-to-day basis what concerns the people who live and work in this community.
I will work in partnership with social housing providers to continue to develop social housing, encourage communities to be involved in the area they live in and to make sure they are kept informed about ongoing projects in their area at every level.
Why do I want to be your councillor? I want to help change the dynamic of the way Argyll and Bute administration makes decisions.
