Lib Dem, ward four
I live in Salen on Mull and am standing as a Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate in this election.
I am married with three grown-up children and two grandchildren.
I have been a member of Mull Community Council for two years where I campaign on local issues.
It is important in this election to vote Scottish Lib Dem, to send a message to the SNP government at Holyrood, telling it to stop cutting the grant to Argyll and Bute Council year on year, and to return the right to decide the level of council tax to the council.
The SNP has cut the grant to the council by more than 20 million in recent years and cuts are due to continue unless the SNP is stopped.
To make best use of the funding the council receives, there should be detailed discussions between Argyll and Bute and the community councils of Oban, Mull, Iona, Coll and Tiree to decide how best the money allocated is spent in their areas.
You can see my detailed policies for Oban South and the Isles on my Facebook page: fb.me/davidpollard2017. Questions and comments are welcome.
