The Oban Times

Kieron Green

Independent, ward five

-

Having previously worked as a school technician in Oban, last June I was privileged to be elected an Independent councillor for Oban North and Lorn. I pledged then to listen to local people, support more affordable housing, encourage investment and protect frontline services – pledges which I believe I have fulfilled and repeat again now.

Since being elected, I have represented our area full-time as a councillor, regularly attending community councils and holding surgeries so that people can easily raise issues and concerns with me. I have developed a particular interest in health and social care – having served as the council policy lead and the chairman of the Integration Joint Board for these services.

As an Independent councillor, I have enjoyed working with communities across Oban and Lorn, and with politicians from a variety of backgrounds to help the council deliver the best possible services in these challenging financial times.

I recognise that there is still much to do – with the council needing to adapt to meet the growing demands placed upon it. With your support, I look forward to continuing to be able to represent you, so please give me your number one vote on Thursday May 4.
