Former policeman on trial

FORMER policeman Thomas Allan Kirsop is due to go on trial today (Thursday) for two charges of driving without due care and attention.

Kirsop appeared at Fort William Sheriff on Tuesday April 25 where Sheriff William Taylor ordered a part trial to be set for today (April 27).

The 76-year- old will be tried for driving slowly and swerving onto the opposite side of the road, causing the vehicle behind to drive at slow speed and stopping the driver from overtaking on March 24 and March 29, 2017, on the A82 at North Ballachuli­sh.

Kirsop will also be sentenced for a third similar driving offence and two breaches of bail conditions relating to his ongoing trial for stalking, which he pleaded guilty to on Tuesday.

Kirsop’s bail was continued until today.
