❚ West High­land Mu­seum AGM will take place on Thurs­day May 25 at 5pm in the mu­seum on Cameron Square, Fort Wil­liam. All wel­come.

❚ Talk Lochaber is hold­ing its AGM on Tues­day May 16 at 7pm at An Drochaid, Clag­gan. Talk Lochaber is the weekly talking news­pa­per for blind or vis­ually im­paired people. If you know some­one who might ben­e­fit from the ser­vice or wish to vol­un­teer, get in touch with Pa­trizia.

❚ Nether Lochaber craft fair will take place this Satur­day April 29, from 10am to 4pm, with cakes and jams, hand­made cards, knit­ted crafts and jew­ellery, among other items for sale. The fairs take place on the last Satur­day of ev­ery month. Call Berit for more in­for­ma­tion on 01397 705539.

❚ Ari­saig WI will hold its AGM on May 4. The in­sti­tute held its penultimate meet­ing of the sea­son on April 20, when the speaker He­len Lamb gave a talk on the Amish, which was well re­ceived.

❚ An Lan­ntair in Stornoway will launch its Fèill Ceáird is Cò­cairachd: Craft and Cook­ery Festival this Satur­day April 29. The free festival will take place from noon- 4pm, of­fer­ing a tour of food and craft from the Outer He­brides.

❚ Nevis Ca­noe Club has or­gan­ised a series of pad­dle ses­sions for adult be­gin­ners or those with ba­sic experience.

They start with a pool ses­sion at the leisure cen­tre to­mor­row (Fri­day April 28) from 8pm-9pm. There will also be four Mon­day ses­sions (6pm- 8.30pm), based at Locheil Out­ward Bound on May 8, 15, 22 and 29. All equip­ment is pro­vided.

The ses­sions are subsidised by Nevis Ca­noe Club but there will be a charge of £40 which in­cludes £15 mem­ber­ship.
