THE Outdoor Capital of the UK is gearing up for UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2017 which takes place over the weekend of June 3 and 4.

Lochaber is host to one of the world’s most prestigious mountain bike races, attracting the world’s best downhill riders, mountain bike enthusiasts and the industry’s leading sponsors.

The multi-award-winning UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Fort William attracts around 18,000 fans and has become the highlight of the Outdoor Capital calendar. The UCI World Cup has come to Fort William every year since 2002 (including the World Championships in 2007) and the event has been awarded the UCI Best Downhill Round on several occasions.

The award, which is voted for by teams, journalists, riders, UCI officials and sponsors, takes into account the overall event – including infrastructure, course quality and local facilities.

We hope that all of Fort William’s incredible tourist businesses will join us in welcoming the thousands of enthusiastic spectators and competitors and help keep Fort Bill as the number one choice in the mountain biking community.
