Firm faces ruin if phones are cut off

-

AN OBAN company claims it faces ruin if its phone and internet are not reconnected - three weeks after they were cut off while trying to change provider.

Trail West Caravan and Trailer Centre, which repairs and rents motorhomes and trailers, has been trying to continue its business without calls or emails since April 12, when the changeover was due to take place.

Andrew Macdonald, who runs the company which employs three people, said: ‘We have now been running three weeks without anyone contacting us. Anyone phoning is given a message to say that phone is not receiving calls. It seems the old company is very reluctant to release the number. It is one way to take a busy business to its knees.

‘This is the busiest time of year for us. We are 75 to 80 per cent down. We have not had to lay off staff. If it destroys our rental income for the summer, that will do long-term damage. It could end the business. We cannot go on like this.’
