New Wild guide to Scotland published
A NEW guide to Scotland’s secret places and wild adventures has been published this week.
Part of the award-winning Wild Guide series from Wild Things Publishing Ltd, Wild guide Scotland: Hidden places, great adventures and the good
life was published on Monday (May 1).
The guide has been compiled by Kimberley Grant, a travel and lifestyle journalist from Glasgow, Shetland-based photographer, writer and mountaineer David Cooper, and Ayrshire travel and fashion photographer Richard Gaston.
They have travelled all over the Highlands and Islands to research, write about and pho- tograph more than 750 secret places and wild adventures, including ancient forests and lost ruins, secret beaches, wild swimming waterfalls and wildlife spotting locations.
The book builds on a decade of research and includes grid references and directions for each location. It also covers places to eat, drink and stay, from distilleries and breweries to remote inns and even bothies and cave dwellings.
The guide covers from Perthshire and Loch Lomond, right up to Orkney and Shetland and many places in between, and the publishers describe the guide as ‘reaching places that traditional guidebooks fail to reach’.
