Campaign aims to prevent accidents

-

FAMILIES are being encouraged to come together to help prevent unnecessary accidents to babies, toddlers and children under five, as RoSPA launches Family Safety Week 2017.

Accidents are the biggest killer of children and young people aged up to 19 in the UK, with at least one child under the age of five killed in an accident every week.

During Family Safety Week, which runs from May 2-5, the safety charity is highlighting the fact these accidents don’t have to happen, by providing tips, advice, support and resources to help keep under-fives safe at home and on the move.

It will be encouraging parents and carers to download free posters covering top tips for safer bed times, bath times, meal times, play times and travel, as well as activity sheets including safety-themed word searches, spot the difference, colouring sheets and a poster competition.

RoSPA will also be hosting a Facebook session in conjunction with Netmums today ( Thursday May 4) from 1.30-2pm.
