The power of transformation

WE SEE this especially at this time of year, strikingly in the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly.

Undeniably, as a caterpillar, opportunities are limited, potential capped. But when transformed into a butterfly, the sense of freedom is markedly different from that of its former life.

God’s creation hints towards a bigger story, a greater truth.

Separate from God, the opportunities to live life as He intended are limited, the potential capped. But when a lost child embraces the gospel of Jesus Christ, something incredible happens – a rebirth, a transformation by God’s Spirit.

Now, opportunity and potential are no longer defined by natural limitations, but by God’s plans and purposes.

1 Peter 1:23 tells us that in that moment, we are “born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible”, and like that butterfly, the transformation opens to us a whole world of new opportunities.
