Rugby club rounds off season in style
LOCHABER Rugby Club held its end of season dinner dance on Saturday but instead of having the traditional formal ceremony members decided to try something new.
With 2017 marking the 20th anniversary of the clubhouse they decided to hold the event there.
And so the event in the tent was born – a hog roast and ceilidh in a big marquee.
With close to 140 tickets sold compared to around 50 for last year’s dinner dance, and the weather being fantastic, it shaped up to be a good night.
William Stewart of the club, told the Lochaber Times: ‘Braveheart catering put on a great spread which disappeared in seconds. There were six local musicians from Ceilidh Trail keeping people on the dance floor all evening before everyone still standing at 10pm moved into the clubhouse to continue the evening.
‘All in all the club felt the evening was a great success and would like to thank No Fuss Events for the marquee and Dale Monk from the Crofter for everything he provided for the event in the tent.’
Lochaber now has its AGM to prepare for on Thursday May 25 at 7pm at the clubhouse where they would like to encourage all their members to attend.
