Friends of the West Highland Lines will be holding an AGM in Fort William tomorrow (May 12).

Cathy Craig, ScotRail alliance commercial director, and David Dickson, the alliance director for infrastruc­ture, are the main speakers for the event, which kicks off at 2.30pm in the Alexandra Hotel.

Lochaber Environmen­tal Group (LEG) is holding an informatio­n stall at the Sustainabl­e Lifestyles Event at UHI, Fort William, on Thursday May 18 from 10am to 3pm.

Staff and volunteers from Lochaber Sensory Care (LSC) for sight and hearing support will be visiting Abbeyfield Care Home in Ballachuli­sh on Monday May 15, from 10.30am until 12.30pm, offering help and advice to residents and members of the public.

They will also supply NHS hearing aid batteries and re-tube and maintain hearing aids.

Stramash is holding a family fun day at its Fort William nursery on May 27 from 11am until 3pm. There will be a bouncy castle, raffle, beat the goalie, archery, marshmallo­w toasting, baking stall and much more at its premises near BA park.

Car boot and craft tables are available for £10 per table.

Lewis piper James Duncan MacKenzie, of Scottish folk band Breabach, will perform at Nunton Steadings tonight (May 11).

Supporting James will be UHI BA applied music graduates Peach/Skeoch, founding members of Tannara who were nominated for Up-and- Coming Band at the Scots Trad Awards this year. Doors open at 7.30pm for 8pm. Discounted tickets are available online now.

Cakes and jams, handmade cards, knitted crafts, cushions, jewellery, candles, soup and roll refreshmen­ts will be available at the Nether Lochaber in Onich.

Kilmallie Community Centre committee are appealing for gardeners and volunteers to dig in and help in the restoratio­n of the Kilmallie Community Gardens.
