Praise for unsung hero of the road
Sir, Having written in February on the subject of litter, I couldn’t agree more with the letter from Nicola Holt ( The
Oban Times, April 13) about litter and the impression it gives to visitors.
However, my reason for writing this time is to say a huge thank you to the man who collects litter and tends the verges, practically on a daily basis and in all weathers, between Oban and the Halfway House filling station.
He has made such a difference to that part of the approach into Oban. In expressing appreciation for his efforts, I know I speak on behalf of others.
It’s just a shame some irresponsible people continue to throw litter out of their vehicles on this stretch and elsewhere. Shirley M Scott, Saligo, North Connel.
