Gen­eral elec­tion hope­fuls un­veiled

THE high­est polling lo­cal coun­cil­lor in Argyll and Bute at re­cent elec­tions has put his name in the hat for the gen­eral elec­tion on June 8.

Gary Mul­vaney, Con­ser­va­tive and Union­ist, won the lo­cal coun­cil elec­tion with 1,789 votes in the He­lens­burgh Cen­tral ward, gain­ing 600 more votes than any other per­son elected.

Mr Mul­vaney joins fel­low coun­cil­lor and former MP Alan Reid (Lib­eral Demo­crat), Michael Kelly (Scot­tish Labour) and SNP in­cum­bent Bren­dan O’Hara as can­di­dates for the Argyll and Bute con­stituency seat.
