General election hopefuls unveiled
THE highest polling local councillor in Argyll and Bute at recent elections has put his name in the hat for the general election on June 8.
Gary Mulvaney, Conservative and Unionist, won the local council election with 1,789 votes in the Helensburgh Central ward, gaining 600 more votes than any other person elected.
Mr Mulvaney joins fellow councillor and former MP Alan Reid (Liberal Democrat), Michael Kelly (Scottish Labour) and SNP incumbent Brendan O’Hara as candidates for the Argyll and Bute constituency seat.
