Parking problems will be discussed again

Sir, Oban Community Council welcomes the highlighting of the parking situation in Oban, which has repeatedly been discussed at our meetings.

We have several times expressed our willingness to bring together all the interested parties to develop the best achievable arrangements, now and in the future.

These must encompass short-stay parking for those having business in the town centre, all-day parking for those who commute into Oban for work, spaces for the many town centre residents, and long-stay parking for ferry passengers and crew.

While we are very willing to listen to suggestions from others, we believe that these arrangements should be developed in Oban, by Oban and for Oban.
