Satur­day May 20

Glen Lyon horse­shoe (Map 51, NN6 66483). Four pos­si­ble Mun­ros – Carn Gorm (Blue Hill) 1,028m, Meall Garbh (Rough Hill) 968m, Carn Mairg (sev­eral pos­si­ble mean­ings, in­clud­ing Hill of Sor­row, Pity, Folly, Bound­ary or Pud­ding) 1,041m, and Creag Mhor (sim­ply Big Rock), 981m – In­ver­var is the start­ing point.

Take the track north, then NW. The sum­mit of Carn Gorm is about 3km west up a broad ridge. Meall Garbh is reached by go­ing north to (or by) An Sgorr, over a col and fol­low­ing a line of fence posts.

Con­tinue roughly east along the ridge, still fol­low­ing the fence posts, reach­ing the sum­mit of Carn Mairg af­ter a short, nar­row and boul­dery sec­tion. De­scend care­fully SE down a steep slope over a small crag, af­ter which it is easy to the next col. From there climb south to the level sum­mit ridge of Creag Mhor. To re­turn, go west onto the easy-an­gled ridge to join the track to the start. (17.1 km, 1470m as­cent).

Carn Dearg (south east) led by Glen Roy and Ann Jones.

One of three Cor­betts in the vicin­ity of Glen Roy with the same name, this one forms part of a pleas­ant cir­cuit with great views and a var­ied, in­ter­est­ing ter­rain.

This walk is a mod­er­ate walk of 14km, with a 670m climb. Meet at Fort Wil­liam WM NN112742 at 9.15am with the start of the walk at 10am.

Sun­day May 21

South Ker­rera and Gylen Cas­tle with Mar­ion Moir.

A walk on easy ground, vis­it­ing re­mote beaches and a his­toric cas­tle. Seaward views to Mull and Morvern. Other sites of ar­chae­o­log­i­cal in­ter­est in­clude a fort near Up­per Gylen. Ferry £4.50 re­turn, no con­ces­sions. Ev­ery 30 min­utes be­tween 10.30am and 12.30pm, and be­tween 2pm and 5pm.

This walk cov­ers 10km, climb­ing 250m. Meet at N Bal­lachul­ish School NN053603 at 9.30am, or Gal­lanach ferry slip for 10.30am sail­ing to Ker­rera.

Sgurr Choin­nich Beag and Sgurr Choin­nich Mor at Glen Ne­vis. This is s stren­u­ous walk over 17km, climb­ing to 1,100m. Meet at Fort Wil­liam WM NN112742 at 9.15am with the walk start­ing at 9.30am.
