Monty pays a visit to Kinlochleven

CLAYMORES Boxing Club in Kinlochleven had a visit from old friend, Monty Ogilvie, last Monday.

Monty, who has just recently stepped up to box as a pro for Mack the Knife Promotions in Edinburgh, came to visit on Monday May 8.

Monty used to be a wellknown face in the Kinlochleven gym when he boxed for the now closed 1314 boxing club in his amateur days.

Claymores head coach Martin Glenesk said: ‘Monty kindly took time out his busy schedule to come over and give our lads a few tips ahead of his next bout on June 3 in Meadowbank.

‘ We will be taking a squad through to cheer Monty on, in his second bout after winning his debut before Christmas. This will be a good chance to let the lads see how the pros do it.’
