Garden project needs volunteers
KILMALLIE Community Centre (KCC) is looking for volunteers to help bring the village gardens back to life.
The group will be meeting on Saturday (May 20) at 10am.
The gardens were opened by Princess Anne on October 14, 1999, but fell into disrepair.
Recently the Community Services Team has repaired the bridge, painted the seats, fence and picnic benches and cut down the overgrown areas.
KCC has been awarded £1,860.57 from Foundation Scotland’s Express Grants, in particular the Forbes Fund, £250 from Volunteering Matters Action Earth Grant and £100 from Scotmid in vouchers for Semichem which were raffled off at the KCC coffee morning on Saturday April 22 and raised £90. The cash was split between KCC and the garden project.
Call the centre on 01397 600111 to offer your help.
