Char­ity walker takes in Lochaber

A HEART trans­plant pa­tient is walk­ing through Lochaber as part of a 5,000-mile trek in sup­port of Bri­tish Heart Foun­da­tion’s (BHF) life-sav­ing re­search.

Kieran Sandwell, 45, from Hert­ford­shire, is tak­ing on the chal­lenge, called ‘ Trail of Two Hearts’, to mark the end of his long bat­tle with heart dis­ease af­ter hav­ing a heart trans­plant eight years ago.

Af­ter set­ting off on Fe­bru­ary 1 from Lon­don, Kieran has al­ready walked 1,000 miles. He hopes to raise £100,000 for BHF. Kieran will be pass­ing through more than 60 towns and vil­lages dur­ing his time in the High­lands in­clud­ing Mal­laig and along Loch Linnhe.
