Two wins out of two for Oban

-

OBAN Cricket Club made it two wins out of two at the start of the new season when they defeated Carradale at Taynuilt last Sunday.

In a match reduced to 20 overs per side following earlier rain, Oban batted first with Jahed Khan and Daniel Booker getting the home side off to a good start. Booker made 16 and Khan 23 and Tristan Carre continued his good start to the season by hitting 38. Mark Parry added more runs at the end of the innings, finishing 28 not out as Oban posted 127 for 5 from their 20 overs.

In reply, Carradale started slowly and soon fell well behind the required run rate.

Oban’s bowlers gave little away with the pick of the bowling coming from Jack Whiteley and Neill Belshaw, who bowled eight overs between them for 21 runs. Carradale eventually finished their 20 overs on 64 for six, leaving Oban winners by 63 runs.

Oban’s next fixture is a tough home game against Glasgow Accies on Sunday June 4.
