More than 200 wee tots were entered into The Oban Times’ annual bonnie babies competition – but in the end it all came down to one happy chap – wee Calum Brown from Tobermory.

Oban Times annual bonnie babies competition, but in the end it all came down to one happy chap – wee Calum Brown from Tobermory.
But Calum was much more interested in a bottle of milk than the fact he had just won the biggest competition in his local newspaper.
Mum Kayleigh made up for Calum’s lack of enthusiasm. Heavily pregnant with her next baby, Kayleigh said: ‘ Alec [Calum’s dad] and I are delighted that our wee boy won the competition.’
Kayleigh (nee McGee), who comes from Bunessan, and Alec from Tobermory, live in the town’s newly-built estate where there are lots of children for the tot to play with.
Kayleigh said: ‘I am over the moon. It might have been the most stressful thing I have ever done. We were on the edge of our seats waiting to find out if Calum had gotten through to the next round every week.
‘To see him win is amazing and I am so delighted for him. There were so many beautiful babies taking part.’ Pauline Clifford, marketing executive at The
Oban Times, said: ‘The whole of the island of Mull must have gotten behind Calum.
‘I would like to thank everyone who entered the competition. They have made what could have been a very hard job delightful. We have so many bonnie babies on the West Coast, it is really difficult for only one to be chosen as the winner in the end. ‘Congratulations to Calum and his family.’ Jessica Grieve-McCaffrey from Caol, Fort William, finished in second place in the bonnie babies.
Third place went to Donny Kerr, two, from Tober Oisin Drive in Oban.
