Between 3pm and 5pm on Sunday June 11, at the car park at the Columba Hotel, North Pier, Oban, the paintwork of a white Volvo car was scratched. Between 5pm on Saturday June 10 and 8.30am on Tuesday June 13, two fishing reels and a green canvas ‘LEADER’ fishing bag containing equipment, were stolen from a green Peugeot parked in the car park of the Lancaster Hotel, Corran Esplanade, Oban. Between May 31 and June 14, at Colonsay Terrace, Oban, a black Vauxhall Mokka car was dented and scratched in several places. Between 7am on Monday June 5 and 5pm on Thursday June 15, a stereo and a DVD/ TV unit were stolen from a campervan, parked in Millpark Place, Oban. AT 12.10PM on Saturday June 17, in Glencruitt­en Road, Oban, a man, aged 18, was arrested for allegedly taking a vehicle without consent of the owner, drug driving and driving without insurance. The man was charged. At 4.50pm on Saturday June 17, a house in Fladda Road, Oban, was searched by police and a small quantity of heroin was found. The occupier, a 37-year- old man, was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and supplying drugs. At 8.45pm on Saturday June 17, in Stevenson Street, Oban, a man allegedly assaulted another man by punching him. Subsequent­ly, police arrested a man, aged 28, and charged him with assault.
