Callander

The Oban Times - - Districts -

TROSSACHS and Teith Councillor Evelyn Tweed praised Callander’s community spirit after a fire damaged a number of properties.

One Callander family was left without a home as the result. Councillor Tweed worked with Stirling Council officials to secure emergency accommodation.

Organisers set up a Justgiving charity donation page and held a jumble sale, a tombola and an auction. Councillor Tweed met organisers last week at the jumble sale raising money for the victims of the fire.

Councillor Tweed has since written to organisers to thank them for their work. She said: ‘On behalf of the local community, I am grateful to the individuals who dedicated their time and efforts to helping others in any way they could.’
