Harry scoops the dou­ble at U18 Durham Open

TAYNUILT’S Harry Mobey won the U18 Durham Open sin­gles and dou­bles events last Satur­day

Harry com­fort­ably made it into the boys’ sin­gles fi­nal and set the pace on what was a three-set fi­nal with fel­low Scot Cal­lum Smith. Harry also went on to win the boys’ dou­bles event in a straight-sets fi­nal with Danny Rob­son from Glas­gow.

Harry also re­cently took gold in the U18 boys’ sin­gles event in Ox­ford, win­ning in a very com­fort­able two-set fi­nal.

He has achieved his end-ofseason goals – fi­nal rank­ing for end of sea­son stands at fifth U18 boys and ranked 11th in Scot­tish se­niors.

Harry has also been in­vited to train at the Na­tional Bad­minton Academy in Mil­ton Keynes in the school sum­mer hol­i­days and has been of­fered a place at the world fa­mous Mis­bun Sidek’s Academy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he will be based for part of De­cem­ber, train­ing with the world’s best ju­nior play­ers.
