CROILEAGAN Grianach is hosting a fashion show today Thursday June 22 in aid of the nursery group’s funds. The show starts at 6.30pm in M&Co, 2 High Street, Fort William. KILMALLIE Community Centre is hosting another community garden clean-up and needs volunteers to help. The clean-up will start at 10am on Saturday July 29. There will be family fun with a fair, a licensed bar, snacks and craft stalls. There will also be a tug- of-war, bonnie baby competitio­n, gala grannie, cheerleade­rs and more. Teams for the tug- of-war are encouraged to get in touch, as is anyone with home-baking donations. Fancy dress is encouraged on the day. STAFF and volunteers from Lochaber Sensory Care for sight and hearing support will visit Morvern medical practice on Tuesday June 27 between 10.30am and 12.30pm. They will offer help and advice to anyone living with a hearing or sight loss – residents or members of the community. They will also supply NHS hearing aid batteries and re-tube and maintain the hearing aids. No appointmen­t is required. THE ANNUAL general meeting of Alzheimer Scotland's Lochaber branch will be held in St Andrew's Church Hall, Fort William, on Wednesday June 28 at 5.30pm. Everyone welcome. THERE will be a fashion and music taster day on Thursday June 29 at West Highland College UHI, Fort William. This will be a chance to have a look around, see the students’ work and ask questions.

There will also be an opportunit­y to apply and have an interview the same day. At 4.30pm there will be a play-in-a-band session and find out more about the after school club for next year. ON SATURDAY June 24, a public meeting will be held between 3pm and 4.30pm at the Four Seasons Bistro at the Inchree Centre in Inchree, Onich, chaired by Councillor Andrew Baxter.

The purpose of this will be to have an open discussion about two different options for the Nether Lochaber community to acquire buildings and a small area of woodland from the Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS), and historic agricultur­al fields owned by Lochaber Housing Associatio­n.

This will be preceded by a drop-in informatio­n event from 1.30pm, to advise Nether Lochaber residents, particular­ly those at Inchree, as well as any interested members of the wider community, as to the potential for community ownership and developmen­t of these assets.
