Tap dance show

A WOMEN’S tap dance class gave their first per­for­mance to rap­tur­ous ap­plause af­ter only 20 lessons.

The five women at­tend an adult tap dance class on Tues­day evenings in the guide hall and the event at At­lantis was the first op­por­tu­nity to per­form in front of the pub­lic.

The class were in­vited, along with some of dance teacher Sarah Black­law’s other classes, to take part in the At­lantis Sum­mer Dance Show.

Ni­cola Wil­son, one of the pupils, ex­plained: ‘Th­ese ladies have only had about 20 lessons, but put on a very pro­fes­sional show.

‘They put their heart and soul into their “Fire­ball” rou­tine and re­ceived a fab­u­lous re­cep­tion.

‘It was great to have this op­por­tu­nity to show­case our hard work af­ter learn­ing the rou­tine. We have much fun at our classes, helped by our very en­thu­si­as­tic teacher.’

Black­law Dance Com­pany offer chil­dren’s bal­let and hip hop classes in the Guide Hall on Satur­days, run­ning through the school hol­i­days.

A ‘dancer­cise’ class will be start­ing in Soroba Com­mu­nity Cen­tre from Mon­day July 3 6.30pm-7.30pm.

Black­law Dance Com­pany runs an adult tap class on Tues­day evenings in the guide hall 7.30pm- 8.30pm.
