Today (Thursday June 22) Sgurr nan Eugallt Kinloch Hourn Corbett

Start from the ruin at Coireshubh, NG958054. Limited parking is available in the vicinity. Take the stalkers’ path W and follow it up to the col S of Sgurr Dubh. Turn SW and climb the ridge to the trig point on Sgurr nan Eugallt, 894m. The true summit lies 600m NW at NG9271804856, 898m.

Follow the main ridge SE along the rim of Coire Shubh, which rises to an unamed summit at NG941035. Descend NE down the ridge to the road just S of the start. An extension to Sgurr a’Chlaidheimh and descent ENE to the road adds a further 90m of ascent and 4km to the walk.

Many small crags and rough ground could make this descent confusing in bad visibility.

Meet at Fort William Woollen Mill at 9am. Contact Andrew Gilbert 07808 924722.

Start from the car park at NN187562. Follow the footpath SW, which crosses the Allt Lairig Eilde at NN181557 on stepping-stones. If this is not possible, continue on the E side of the burn and rejoin the path at NN173542. Follow the path to the col, marked by a cairn. From the col, it is possible to contour at about 500m, around the SW and SE flanks of Stob Dubh, to arrive at the col in Lairig Gartain NN183529. Another short- cut may be taken further S down the Lairig Eilde path, if it is possible to cross the main burn at NN1713452700. A barely discernible path contours the base of Stob Dubh at about 350m, to reach the Lairig Gartain path at NN178524. Otherwise, continue S down the Lairig Eilde path to a junction among the trees above the Glen Etive road near Dalness.

Turn left and follow the path up to the col in Lairig Gartain. The path continues NE to the car park on the A82 at NN213559. Transport required.
