SWT chief appointed
LINDA ROSBOROUGH has been appointed as the new chairwoman of the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s governing council.
She will take over the role from Robin Harper following the trust’s annual general meeting in September.
Ms Rosborough, above, retired as the director of Marine Scotland in 2016. She has enjoyed a long career in the civil service, and has advised the House of Commons Environment Select Committee. She holds a PhD in environmental planning and is a keen walker, cyclist and canoeist.
Ms Rosborough said: ‘I’m proud to be joining a charity with such significant achievements and committed members, volunteers and staff.
‘I intend to build on the legacy of Robin Harper, who has provided sound governance and excellent leadership since his appointment in 2014.
‘This is an uncertain time for our natural environment, but I will ensure that the trust continues to have a strong voice in helping to protect Scotland’s wildlife for future generations.’
