THE SCOTTISH Women's Institute extends a warm invitation to current and former members to an afternoon tea to celebrate the organisati­on's centenary on Saturday July 1 in Duncansbur­gh Church Hall from 2pm to 4pm.

THERE will be a fashion and music taster day on Thursday June 29 at West Highland College UHI, Fort William. This will be a chance to have a look around, see the students’ work and ask questions.

There will also be an opportunit­y to apply and have an interview the same day. At 4.30pm there will be a play-ina-band session and a chance to find out more about the after school club for next year. Any instrument – no assessment­s or qualificat­ions – just music. LOCHABER Hope is holding a get together on Saturday July 1 at Dalnahaine, Belford Road, Fort William, from 11am to 3pm to show the community what they do. A barbecue, afternoon tea, cake bakes and face painting will be available.

STAFF and volunteers from Caol-based Lochbaer sensory care for sight and hearing support will visit Mallaig on Tuesday July 4. The team will be at Mallaig medical centre from 2pm to 3pm. They will help and advise anyone living locally with hearing or sight loss. They will also supply NHS hearing aid batteries and retube and maintain the hearing aids.
