Mull and Iona gala promises a week of fun and frolics on islands

Mull and Iona gala is offering a full programme of events on the Ross.

July 21: Gala kicks off with the float parade through Fionnphort, live music from Creich David and barbecue outside the Keel Row. The Creel seafood bar also open. Then there is a dance in the evening at Creich Hall with Rock’n’Reel July 22: Bunessan fives. July 23: Dinghy race, Iona. July 24: Coffee morning, Heart Start training. Scarecrow trail launches. Currently we have just over 40 scarecrows entered. A map is available to purchase that offers a guide round the trail and an option to vote for favourite scarecrows

July 25: Heart Start training, one- club golf on Iona.

July 26: Practical Plants day, Bunessan Hall ceilidh, Under Milkwood.

July 27: Stock judging event, music night at Keel Row.

July 28: Start of open gardens, Ayrshire Infinity Choir, ranger-led kids’ event.

July 29: Ayrshire Choir at Iona Abbey, Start of Pennyghael art exhibit, Donald MacNeill at Creich, Mull Theatre evening, barbecue and ceilidh at Iona Hall.

July 30: Big Creich cook-up w/ PTA, Uisken games,

July 31: Last day of open gardens, Prosecco, fish and chips and choons at The Creel, ranger-led kids’ event

August 1: Big Fit walk, car treasure hunt.

August 2: Bunessan biodiversi­ty day, Screen Machine.

August 3: Music night at the Keel Row.
