Am­bu­lance in col­li­sion with mo­tor­bike on A82

AN AM­BU­LANCE car­ry­ing a ca­su­alty from a crash on the A82 col­lided with a mo­tor­bike on the same road on Sun­day af­ter­noon.

Emer­gency ser­vices were called to a se­ri­ous crash in­volv­ing an am­bu­lance and a mo­tor­cy­cle at 3.25pm.

The am­bu­lance had ear­lier at­tended a crash on the A82 at In­ver­garry when a Mercedes Sprinter minibus went off the road at 1.25pm. One fe­male pas­sen­ger was air­lifted to hospi­tal with back in­juries. A male ca­su­alty was taken by the am­bu­lance, which later crashed. As a re­sult of the col­li­sion, the biker was taken to Raig­more Hospi­tal with se­ri­ous in­juries.

The road was closed for in­ves­ti­ga­tions and was re­opened at 8.35pm.

A po­lice spokesper­son said: ‘Of­fi­cers are par­tic­u­larly keen to trace the driver of a small blue Fiat who may have been trav­el­ling south to­wards In­ver­moris­ton but any­one who wit­nessed the col­li­sion and who has not spo­ken to po­lice should con­tact us on 101 quot­ing ref­er­ence num­ber NE-9893-17 or Crimestop­pers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to re­main anony­mous.’
