Ambulance in collision with motorbike on A82
AN AMBULANCE carrying a casualty from a crash on the A82 collided with a motorbike on the same road on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a serious crash involving an ambulance and a motorcycle at 3.25pm.
The ambulance had earlier attended a crash on the A82 at Invergarry when a Mercedes Sprinter minibus went off the road at 1.25pm. One female passenger was airlifted to hospital with back injuries. A male casualty was taken by the ambulance, which later crashed. As a result of the collision, the biker was taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed for investigations and was reopened at 8.35pm.
A police spokesperson said: ‘Officers are particularly keen to trace the driver of a small blue Fiat who may have been travelling south towards Invermoriston but anyone who witnessed the collision and who has not spoken to police should contact us on 101 quoting reference number NE-9893-17 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.’
