Care­less driv­ing

AT ABOUT 4am on Tues­day July 25, on Lau­rel Road, Oban, a blue Volk­swa­gen Golf car al­legedly struck a stone wall, caus­ing dam­age.

Sub­se­quently, the driver of the car, a 22-year- old man, was charged with care­less driv­ing.

No per­sons were in­jured as a re­sult of the in­ci­dent and a re­port will be sub­mit­ted to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal.

Theft from car

AT ABOUT 1.35am on Wed­nes­day July 26, in a car park near Lorn Av­enue, Oban, a van was bro­ken in to and items were stolen. A short time later two men, both aged 17, were de­tained by po­lice.

The men were sub­se­quently ar­rested and charged with the theft and one of the men was also charged with giv­ing false de­tails to po­lice and lit­ter­ing.

A re­port will be sub­mit­ted to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal.

Racial abuse

AT ABOUT 3.40pm on Satur­day July 29, in Ge­orge Street, Oban, a man was al­legedly sub­jected to racial abuse by an­other man.

Later that day, a man aged 33 was ar­rested and charged with the of­fence and a re­port will be sub­mit­ted to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal.

Dan­ger­ous driv­ing

AT ABOUT 11.40am on Sun­day July 30, on the A82 near Bridge of Orchy, a coach over­took a lorry, caus­ing on­com­ing mo­tor­cy­clists to take eva­sive action to avoid a col­li­sion.

Sub­se­quently a 45-year- old man was charged with care­less driv­ing.

No- one was in­jured as a re­sult of the in­ci­dent and a re­port will be sub­mit­ted to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal.

Theft from shed

BETWEEN Sun­day and Satur­day, July 23 and 29, a shed in a rear gar­den at Dal­in­tart Drive, Oban, was bro­ken into and a set of lad­ders and two chil­dren’s bikes were stolen.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent and are ap­peal­ing for any wit­nesses or any­one with any in­for­ma­tion to con­tact them.

Ve­hi­cle dam­aged

BETWEEN 7pm Mon­day July 24 and 8.40am on Tues­day July 25 on Vic­to­ria Street, Tober­mory, a black Re­nault Clio mo­tor car, was dam­aged by hav­ing the rear bumper and wheel arch struck by an­other ve­hi­cle which failed to stop and re­port the in­ci­dent.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent and are ap­peal­ing for any wit­nesses or any­one with any in­for­ma­tion to con­tact them.

Van stolen

BETWEEN 6pm on Sun­day July 30 and 6.30am on Mon­day July 31, a white Re­nault Traf­fic van, reg­is­tra­tion mark SD07 XZW, was stolen from Cru­achan Cot­tages, Taynuilt.

The van does not have any mark­ings on it, has a roof rack and was con­tain­ing power tools.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent and are ap­peal­ing for any wit­nesses or any­one with any in­for­ma­tion to con­tact them.
