Careless driving

AT ABOUT 4am on Tuesday July 25, on Laurel Road, Oban, a blue Volkswagen Golf car allegedly struck a stone wall, causing damage.

Subsequent­ly, the driver of the car, a 22-year- old man, was charged with careless driving.

No persons were injured as a result of the incident and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Theft from car

AT ABOUT 1.35am on Wednesday July 26, in a car park near Lorn Avenue, Oban, a van was broken in to and items were stolen. A short time later two men, both aged 17, were detained by police.

The men were subsequent­ly arrested and charged with the theft and one of the men was also charged with giving false details to police and littering.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Racial abuse

AT ABOUT 3.40pm on Saturday July 29, in George Street, Oban, a man was allegedly subjected to racial abuse by another man.

Later that day, a man aged 33 was arrested and charged with the offence and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Dangerous driving

AT ABOUT 11.40am on Sunday July 30, on the A82 near Bridge of Orchy, a coach overtook a lorry, causing oncoming motorcycli­sts to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

Subsequent­ly a 45-year- old man was charged with careless driving.

No- one was injured as a result of the incident and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Theft from shed

BETWEEN Sunday and Saturday, July 23 and 29, a shed in a rear garden at Dalintart Drive, Oban, was broken into and a set of ladders and two children’s bikes were stolen.

Police are investigat­ing the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any informatio­n to contact them.

Vehicle damaged

BETWEEN 7pm Monday July 24 and 8.40am on Tuesday July 25 on Victoria Street, Tobermory, a black Renault Clio motor car, was damaged by having the rear bumper and wheel arch struck by another vehicle which failed to stop and report the incident.

Police are investigat­ing the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any informatio­n to contact them.

Van stolen

BETWEEN 6pm on Sunday July 30 and 6.30am on Monday July 31, a white Renault Traffic van, registrati­on mark SD07 XZW, was stolen from Cruachan Cottages, Taynuilt.

The van does not have any markings on it, has a roof rack and was containing power tools.

Police are investigat­ing the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any informatio­n to contact them.
