Assault charge

AT ABOUT 8.30am on Wednesday August 23, following a report of a man assaulting a woman in a flat in Connel, a 68-year-old man was detained. The man was later arrested and charged with assault. He was held for court and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Drugs found

AT ABOUT 1.55pm on Wednesday August 23, on Station Road, Oban, a man aged 36 was stopped and searched by police. The man was charged with possession of a Class A drug and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Speeding offences

ON WEDNESDAY August 23, three men were reported to be driving vehicles at excessive speed on the A82 near Bridge of Orchy. The men were all stopped and charged and reports will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Abusive behaviour

AT ABOUT 1.55am on Thursday August 24, in George Street, Oban, a man aged 19 was reportedly shouting abuse in the street. The man was arrested and charged with the offence and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Drunk driver

AT ABOUT 7.15pm on Friday August 25, a 40-year-old man was stopped by police while driving his car on the B8065 near Scarinish, Tiree.

The man provided a positive breath test, was arrested and subsequently a blood sample was taken for analysis.

Multiple charges

ABOUT 2.10am on Sunday August 27, on the A85 near Taynuilt, a van was stopped and the driver, a 31-year-old man was arrested for alleged drink driving and driving without insurance.

The man subsequently failed to provide a breath specimen at the police station. He was charged and held for court. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Vehicle damaged

BETWEEN 5pm on Saturday August 26 and 3.45pm on Sunday August 27, a silver Toyota pickup, parked on Stevenson Street, Oban, was damaged when the rear window was smashed and the boot panel was dented. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them.

Abusive behaviour

AT ABOUT 8.55pm on Sunday August 27, following a report of a man behaving in an abusive manner in McKelvie Road, Oban, a 24-year-old was arrested and charged with abusive behaviour. The man was held for court and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Breach of bail

AT ABOUT 12.35am on Monday August 28, in Connel, a 68-yearold man allegedly breached bail conditions imposed by the court by communicating with a woman. Police arrested and charged the man, who was held for court. A report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.
