Thursday September 28 Elleric to Ballachuli­sh Start at the car park at Elleric, NN035488. Follow the forest track up NE, forking left at every junction, to the foot of a steep footpath at NN064534. Head N up the path to a col, Mam UchdaichEX, just beyond the forest boundary.

The path continues N, down into Gleann an Fhiodh. Ford the River Laroch and join the main path near a conspicuou­s cairn. Follow the path NE to Ballachuli­sh to finish at the TIC. Transport required.

Grade: M; Distance: 12Km; Height to climb: 400m; Map(s): LR50/41, EX384. Meet at Longsdale CP Oban NM862307 at 09.50, Ballachuli­sh TIC NN083584 at 09.45. Start of walk at 10.30. Leader: Marilyn Drummond 01631 565878.

Saturday September 30 Beinn Each, Strathyre Corbett Start from the lay-by on the A84 at NN582137. Head NE up the right of way and join the forest track in Glen Ample at NN58736141 22.

Continue to the watershed at Bothan Eas an EoinEX, NN58985150­50. Leave the track and follow a narrow path E steeply uphill on the N side of a burn. The path continues up, heading NE along the crest of the escarpment to reach the summit of Beinn Each, 813m. Descend SE to a col and climb to the small summit of Meall na Caora.

Turn SW on to a spur. When the ground steepens, head down W to rejoin the outward route just N of the woodland.

Grade: M+; Distance: 8Km; Height to climb: 776m; Map(s): LR57, EX365 or OL46. Meet at Longsdale CP Oban NM862307 at 08.45, Glencoe Village CP NN098587 at 09.00. Start of walk at 10.30. Leader: Ann Jones 07770 4341144.

Map 40, NM856813, Glenfinnan, Beinn Odhar Mhor, Beinn Odhar Bheag

Start from the lay-by on the A830, where limited parking is available. Cross the railway and head SW up uneven slopes on the NW side of the Allt Coire a’ Choin Duinn.

Following the fall-line, the route curves S past a lochan at NM846801, then SE to the summit of Beinn Odhar Mhor.

Follow the undulating and sinuous ridge S, curving SE up to the summit of Beinn Odhar Bheag.

Return by the same route. (11km, 1000m ascent)
