LOCHABER Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for a fantastic Lochaber Ideas Week from Monday November 13 to Friday November 17 and if you haven’t yet booked for events, now is the time to do it.

Many of the events are free and it’s a great way to find out what’s going on in our vibrant business community. Plus it’s an ideal way to develop your own business ideas through inspirational workshops, lectures and networking.

We all know the benefits of networking in business are enormous, but it’s all too easy to focus on the essential day-to-day tasks in our business and put off ‘networking’ as a nice idea for another day.

But investing a bit of time to make con- nections will help you in your work. People do business with people. Talking face-toface is the best way to connect with other people in business, raise awareness of what you do and find out about opportunities you could easily otherwise have missed.

That’s why we created our informal Around Lochaber in 80 Tables event during Lochaber Ideas Week. This fastpaced and fun speed-networking event is designed to help local businesses get together to promote what they do, find out more about other businesses and spot potential opportunities.

Last year’s attendees had great fun hopping from table to table for short ‘business dates’, getting to know new people and making valuable business connections. Invest some time in networking – you never know what doors it could open.
