Speeding motorist

About 9pm on Wednesday October 4, on the A85 near Tyndrum, a van was stopped for exceeding the speed limit. The driver, a man aged 51, was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Theft of wallet

Between 12.20pm and 12.30pm on Wednesday October 4, a wallet and a tobacco pouch were stolen from a lock-up on the South Pier, Gallanach Road, Oban.

Drug found

About 12.40am on Thursday October 5, on the Railway Pier, Oban, a man aged 37 was stopped and searched by police. The man was found in possession of a small amount of cannabis, and was charged and issued with a recordable police warning.

Abusive behaviour

About 12.50am on Friday October 6, in Station Square, Oban, a man aged 22 was arrested for abusive behaviour. When arrested, the man resisted police and assaulted an officer. The man was charged with the offences and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Woman detained

About 10.30pm on Friday October 6, following a report of a disturbanc­e at a flat at Corran Brae, Oban, a 31-year-old woman was detained, was later arrested and charged with abusive behaviour and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Driving offences

About 9.15pm on Sunday October 8, in Station Square, Oban, a silver Vauxhall Astra allegedly collided with another car, failed to stop and drove off. A short time later the Astra mounted the pavement in Stafford Street, collided with a road sign, failed to stop and drove off. Police attended and a short time later arrested a man aged 37 in Corran Brae, Oban. The man was allegedly under the influence of drugs, was charged and a report was submitted to the fiscal.
