Oban has lots happening this holiday week

-

THE school holidays are upon us again this week and it seems no time since the children went back after the summer, writes Oban town ambassador Kay McDonald.

It’s lovely to have had at least a few days of dry weather so far for them and it’s the best time of year to get out and about for walks in all the fallen leaves.

A perfect place to walk along to is Dunollie Museum, Castle and Grounds, all the joy of a woodland walk and then an exciting place to explore with a Faerie Day and a Clan Day among the things planned during the holidays, as well as an exhibition called Moving Minds which looks interesting for all ages.

Have a wee look at their website for more information or check Oban Town Diary to keep you up to date.

For the quiz goers among you, there is also something to look forward to on Friday night in the Masonic Lodge where there’s a quiz in aid of Marie Curie and multiple sclerosis, both good causes to support and a good night out into the bargain.

If you’re looking for other things to do to amuse children then look no further than Atlantis Leisure and Oban Phoenix Cinema, both of which have lots to keep you busy no matter what the weather throws at you.

I must also say how delighted I am that BID4Oban had such a successful ballot – now I have lots to look forward to, including a Halloween party to organise, fireworks and the reindeer parade, to name but a few.

Last week’s photo was the top of the old bell tower from Oban High School and this week’s is in the centre of the town – if you can spot it.
