Oban writing group is seeking submissions
An Oban writing group is seeking submissions for its new project that will be turned into a book and theatre show.
Wurdplay, which recently sold out of its latest poetry book, is creating a stage production titled Living Cells.
‘We want short scripts for the stage,’ Jamie Livingstone explains.
‘Here are the vague guidelines: The writing has to be made up of interview and monologue.
‘It can be fiction or non-fiction. It could be a police interview, one at the job centre or with a journalist.
‘It could be an archeologist interviewing a drug dealer or an archaeologist who is a drug dealer being interviewed by a police man who wants to be an archaeologist. Anything you can think of. Play about.
‘As long as it is made up of interview and monologue then it’s fine. Use any language you see fit. Oh and make it short. Eight pages maximum please.
‘Work that is accepted will be produced for the stage. People of your choice can be the actors or we can help find actors for your piece. ‘
Send writing to: wurdplaywriting@gmail.com.
The deadline for submissions is January 21 2018.
The Wurdplay writing group is on from 2.30-4pm in the Hope Kitchen. Everyone is welcome.
