Oban Lorne’s U18s fixture at home to Bishopton was postponed on Saturday as the visitors failed to raise a side for the game. This was a blow for Oban who have built up great momentum in recent weeks and boasted a squad of 18 players for the match.
Oban Lorne v Newton Stewart/Wigtownshire
This Saturday the team will look to continue their recent good form as a combined Newton Stewart/ Wigtownshire team make the long trip to Oban.
The sides met in Stranraer earlier in the season playing out a 12-12 draw. A win for Oban, would strengthen the teams grip on third place in the league.
Saturday’s game will be played at North Connel, Kick off TBC.
Scottish Schools National U16 Bowl Final
Excitement is building at Oban High School ahead of the U16 National Bowl final to be played at BT Murrayfield’s back pitches on Wednesday next week as part of Scottish Rugby’s School Finals Day.
Oban High School U16s will meet the winner of Jedburgh Grammar School and Auchinleck Academy.
The Oban side have impressed in previous rounds of the competition recording some big wins and have stepped up their preparations over the past couple of weeks.
Supporters are welcome to attend the game and can stay for both the U16 & U18 main finals that will be played inside BT Murrayfield.
U15 Girls Friendly Fixture Oban U15 Girls P Islay RFC P
Poor weekend weather put a stop to the first girls meeting between Argyll neighbours Oban and Islay at U15 level.
This was due to be Islay’s first competitive fixture at this level with the school starting up a girls rugby section at the start of the 2017/18 season.
The fixture will be rearranged for the new year.

Oban’s U13 & U14 teams were left without a fixture on Sunday with a combination of poor weather and unavailable playing surfaces forcing games with Waysiders Drumpellier to be called off. These fixtures will be rescheduled into 2018.
