Alleycats claw their way to a clean sweep of results

AFTER week eight of the Lochaber Building Supplies 10-pin bowling leagues at the Nevis Centre in Fort William, both the scratch and handicap divisions are close at the top.

This week saw the clash of the top two teams (The Empire and Alleycats) in both the scratch and handicap divisions, with Alleycats running out 5-0 winners for both scratch and handicap points.

This has resulted in Alleycats taking the top position in the scratch division with 34 points followed by Council on 31 points, while The Empire drops to third place on 30 points. Alleycats and Council are now top of the handicap division, both on 30 points, followed by The Empire on 26 points.

Individual­ly the best scratch game of the week came from Tommy McKnight (Alleycats) with the season high of 216.

Other good games came from Ben Weller (The Empire) with 198, Pam Weller (Alleycats) with 177, John Weller (Alleycats) with 173 and Brian Johnstone (Alleycats) with 172. Tommy McKnight also swept the board with the week’s top handicap game of 272 – the season high – the top two game scratch series of 370, and the top two game handicap series of 482, also the season high.

The best team scores of the week all came from Alleycats with the top scratch game of 724 (season high), top handicap game of 919, top two game scratch series of 1,385 and the top two game handicap series of 1,775 – both season highs.

Ben Weller holds the top scratch average with 163 followed by Pam Weller on 158 and Tony Whitelocke on 152.
