Argyll National Trust for Scotland group launches Facebook page

-

THE Argyll Members’ Group of the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) has now launched a Facebook page where members can be kept informed of the activities of the group.

Search for Argyll Members Group, National Trust for Scotland on Facebook.

The group is open to all members of both the NTS and the National Trust. Its purpose is to support the work of NTS by bringing local members to get together for events and outings, and raising money for the trust.

Lunchtime talks are a regular feature, there is a Christmas lunch and also an annual four-day summer holiday to different parts of Scotland to visit NTS properties and other sites of interest.

This year’s holiday in June will be heading north and be based in Dornoch, visiting places such as Inverewe Garden, Dunrobin Castle and Fort George.

Details of all the events can be found on the new Facebook page.

Group chairman Dr James Fenton said: ‘We are always looking for new members and would encourage all trust members to join.

‘This new Facebook page is a great asset which enables members to keep abreast of our activities, and which also provides a forum for local trust members to post their own pictures and stories.’

Argyll National Trust for Scotland properties within the local area are Arduaine Garden (pictured below), Crarae Garden, Iona, Staffa, Burg (on Mull) and Glencoe.
