Police Scotland wellbeing event well supported in Lochgilphead
POLICE in Lochgilphead held a successful wellbeing event for their officers and staff based in Argyll and Bute last week.
The official event was well attended and supported by police officers and staff, with many thanks to all the local service providers, police partners and local businesses which attended to offer their support.
These included David Bracken, artistic woodturning and custom drums; Becky Dale of Kilmartin Museum; Madge and Danny Dobbie of Starlight Therapies providing sample sessions of reiki and kinesiology; NHS senior improvement specialist Jennifer Dryden; Argyll Pharmacy pharmacist Susan Paterson providing health advice and promoting the many services of the pharmacy; Lomond and Argyll Advocacy Service; ArtMap Argyll; MAYDS; Argyll and Bute Youth Services; Heart of Argyll Wildlife; and MS Centre Lochgilphead.
Also from the wider police support network was the Police Credit Union, Axa and Optima and PMAS (Police Mutual) attended to distribute literature and discuss their services.
The healthy soup and homemade bread were well received, as was the home-baking donated by staff and police friends. ‘The Jump’ Wii Fit ski competition was extremely popular and the divisional commander, Hazel Hendren, especially enjoyed demonstrating her newly acquired skills.
Police Scotland is committed to the health and wellbeing of its staff and their families, ensuring that they have support on a wide range of issues.
The emergency services perform a role that cannot be compared to any other job and is undeniably an essential service for our local communities.
The wellbeing of Police Scotland officers and staff is fundamental to the delivery of policing in Scotland and staff are Police Scotland’s primary asset.
