Dangerous driving
A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with dangerous driving after he was seen reversing on a roundabout and driving on the wrong side of the road in Argyll Square, Oban. Police stopped the car at 11pm on Monday January 29 and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Driver traced
AT 1.10AM on Tuesday January 30, on the A85 near Loch Awe, a car collided with a metal fence, causing damage. The driver drove off with the vehicle in a dangerous condition, failing to report the incident.
The car was later traced and stopped by police and the 24-year-old man who was driving was found to have no licence or insurance. He was also in possession of a knife.
The man was arrested and charged with the offences and held for court. A report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Drug search
A MAN was found with cannabis when police searched a flat in Shore Street, Oban, at 10.20pm on Friday February 2. The 24-year-old was issued with a recorded police warning. A TEENAGER was stopped and searched and found with cannabis and ecstasy at 3.30pm on Saturday February 3, in Ardconnel Terrace, Oban,
The 17-year-old man also obstructed the search. He was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Abusive behaviour
AT 10.45PM on Saturday February 3, in Corran Brae, Oban, a man aged 20 behaved in an abusive and disorderly manner and assaulted another man and a woman. Police attended and the man was arrested and charged. A report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Assault charge
AT 3.20AM on Sunday February 4, following a report of a man assaulting a woman in a flat on Corran Esplanade, Oban, a 29-year-old was arrested and charged. He was held for court and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.
