Oban Toy Cupboard seeks new volunteers

-

OBAN Toy Cupboard, a popular local charity which has been an important part of the community for more than 27 years, may have to close if it cannot fill vital volunteer roles.

The toy cupboard was established to provide affordable access to toys as a means to help children learn and develop through play.

There are three weekly funfilled sessions at the Glencruitten church centre for parents and childminders with toddlers and babies.

Around 50 families currently attend each week.

For a small fee of £5 every six months, children can access a range of toys, books and craft activities while parents socialise over tea and coffee. Other services include special sessions with the NHS Childsmile team, Gaelic sessions and infant CPR training.

There is also a great selection of toys available for hire from 50p per week.

The toy cupboard is accepting applications for the roles of chairperson, secretary and treasurer. A few hours of time each month would be greatly appreciated by the families who regularly attend.

For more information about the positions, contact toycupboardoban@gmail.com or call 07717 725244. For more information for parents and carers, visit https://www.facebook.com/obantoycupboard/. Donations are welcome.
