❚ Cavendish Winds are performing at Lochaber High School tomorrow evening, Friday February 16, as part of Lochaber Music For All. The concert starts at 7.30pm in the main hall in the school.

❚ Kilmallie Community Centre committee is calling on gardeners and volunteers to help at another session to restore Kilmallie Community Gardens on Saturday February 17. Contact Sarah Kennedy on 07768 805040 for more informatio­n.

❚ Staff and volunteers from Caol-based Lochaber Sensory Care (LSC) for sight and hearing support will visit Abbeyfield House Care Home in Ballachuli­sh on Monday, February 19 from 10.30am until 12.30pm, offering help and advice to anyone with a hearing loss or sight loss – residents and members of the public. The team will also supply NHS hearing aid batteries and re-tube and maintain the hearing aids. No appointmen­t necessary.

❚ The Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC) is holding a meeting to consider setting up a new section in North Argyll and Lochaber. The event will take place in the Alexandra Hotel, The Parade, Fort William, at 7.30pm on Friday February 23. ❚ On Sunday February 25 at 4pm, there will be a free opera concert at St Mary’s, Arisaig when members of Scottish Opera will perform Faure Requiem to commemorat­e all those who died in the First World War, in particular Mary McKinnon who died on the hospital ship The Glenart Castle, on February 26 in 1918.

There will be a collection for St Mary’s funds and to support the Christmas lunch for elderly people of the village.
