Heron Valley to tour Argyll and Lochaber

-

THE PEOPLE of Argyll and Lochaber will have a chance to catch local folk stars Heron Valley as they warm up with some home gigs in March before crossing the Atlantic for the first of two US tours.

After a hugely successful 18 months, the band, who formed while they were still at school, will be hitting the road in March for a tour which will see them visit Arrochar, Tarbert, Dalmally and Fort William.

Heron Valley, who were nominated for Up and Coming Artist at the Scots Trad Awards last year, will be playing material from their debut album, Roam, along with some new material ready for their 2018 festivals. The band will be supported by another hot young Argyll band, Rhuvaal, a Campbeltown group quickly making a name for themselves.

Arlene Mackechnie, pianist with Heron Valley, said: ‘The past 18 months have been fantastic. We released our debut album, Roam, and have played all over the world as well as some great Scotland gigs.

‘The support we have at home across Argyll and the Highlands is great and we always love coming home to play. This tour will have an extra special Argyll punch with Campbeltown band, Rhuvaal, joining us.

‘This is already shaping up to be a busy year and we couldn’t think of a better way to kick it off than an Argyll winter tour. We’ve got some exciting opportunities coming up including our first trip stateside with two US tours planned for later this year plus lots of Scottish festivals including headlining Gig in the Goil, Oban Live, Islay Music Festival and Cowal Games. There will be lots more to come from us this year so watch this space.’

Heron Valley dates are:

Friday March 2 – Railway Social Club, Fort William; Friday March 9 – Tarbert Hall; Saturday March 10 – Three Villages Hall, Arrochar; and Saturday March 17 – Dalmally Hall.
