Love is in the air with Spring weddings

-

What better time for love to be in the air than Spring?

It has to be one of the most beautiful and most inspirational times of the year to get married with blossom coming out in bloom and signs of new life starting to show everywhere.

There will be an abundance of beautiful flowers to choose for bouquets and for the bride’s hair. Pretty pinks, yellows and greens from the springtime pastel palette make colour co-ordination for the big day a dream.

Why not think about using Spring as the theme for your decorative focal points for the ceremony and the celebration afterwards.

Be fantastically floral with your invites and may be even your wedding dress and there is no stopping there - don’t forget the cake.

Wedding cakes have moved on from three white tiers, dare to be different. Delightful berries, edible foilage, birds and even woodland creatures in fondant shapes perched on top would make a show-stopping centre piece.

As we wave goodbye to winter, a hint of better weather breezes and longer days our way opening up possibilities of al-fresco weddings. The chance to party in a marquee or enjoy a beautiful garden or stunning grounds and venues across Argyll.

Anyone planning a wedding in this region is spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing hotels to bring together the special people in their lives for an unforgettable experience. Oban’s register office is also a popular choice for couples. Gorgeous backdrops are essential for photographs that will grace the pages of the wedding albums or Facebook going global. Vintage and chintz is still a firm favourite with Spring brides wanting to create a breath-taking wedding. Regardless of season there is always so much planning to do and with so much to do, making an essential list should be one of a couple’s first priorities - after naming the date and sending out save the date cards.

Top of that all-important list should be budget. Work out the limit, go from there and try to stick to it.

Starting a wedding folder or binder with ideas is a great way to begin. Cut out pictures from magazines, look for colours, snatch ideas from anywhere you can and pop them in your collection to make it unique to you.

Talk to friends and family, search about for venues and make a visit so you are sure of finding the perfect place.

The guest list is often about compromising so no one is left out but remember it is your wedding day so you should have a say on who you want to share it with you. Research photographers, bands, florists, and caterers - putting in the hard work now will be well worth the effort and peace of mind later. Make sure all these people know exactly what you are expecting to make sure tying the knot will be one of the best days of your life and one to remember for all the right reasons.
