A car left outside the back of the Perle Hotel has been given multiple parking tickets, causing a significant amount of comment.

Allan Strang Jnr: ‘Has owner been found? has owner been missing. What if that’s the case and they’re just slapping tickets on it every now and again ... Why don’t they think and try find owner instead of dishing out tickets.’ Roger Brown: ‘If the car hasn’t moved, it’s a continuous contravention and only the first ticket is payable. There is legal precident for this.’

Nicola Gemmell: ‘Seen one of the wardens putting two tickets on the car in the space of a few hours.’ Séamus Jim MacAoidh: ‘Maybe someone has a non existent quota to reach, and is doing it the easy way.’ Samantha Leiper: That was there a week or two ago and I was in subway and they put a ticket on then walked away 5 minutes later slapped another ticket on the car is that how they work is it??

Bob Gibson: ‘Dishing out tickets raises money, trying to find the owner doesn’t.’

David MacLennan: ‘The tickets will cost more than tge car is worth soon.’ Sandrahiggins Higgins: ‘Surely the police can trace owner through DVLA.’ Ross Freeman: ‘I thought you can’t get a second ticket if you got one on the screen.’

Lewis Wilson-Ross: ‘Could this be a sign of something wrong, does this car belong to an elderly person. Is this person ok???’

There was also comment on the Royal Mail office closing early last Wednesday because of the weather. Graham West: ‘Can’t belive the post office was closed went down to pick up a parcel I really had to laugh when I saw the sign and had a Victor Meldrew moment “I don’t belive it” !!!! ’

Laura Murphy: ‘Absolutely ridiculous. Beautiful day all day today.’
