Bullocks (209) averaged 236.9p and sold to 313.7p per kg for a pair of 255kg Simmental crosses from Refouble, Glenfernes­s and £1,310 gross for a pair of 698kg Aberdeen Angus crosses from Raitcastle

Heifers (166) averaged 229.8p and sold to 298.5p per kg for a pair of 268kg Simmental crosses from Refouble, and £1,240 gross for a 660kg Simmental cross from Tomcluich, Nairn.

Young bulls (10) averaged 171.2p per kilo and sold to 215.7p per kg for a 510kg Simmental and £1,100 gross for a 510kg Simmental both from Wellhouse, Beauly. Breeding cattle (2) sold to £1,127 gross for a Simmental cross Heifer in calf from Mill of Buckie, Banff. “All classes continued at recent keen rates.”

– Caledonian Marts on Tuesday February 27 sold 2185 prime hoggets, ewes and tups. All classes of hoggs sharper on the week, with 1594 hoggs averaging 211.5ppkg (+4.6p on the week), with 1100 hoggs (39-52kg) averaging 217ppkg.

Top price of the day went to Doune Farms, West Lundie for a 57kg Beltex at £120. Top price per kg went to Ian Campbell, Meikle Seggie for a pair of Beltex X at 257ppkg.
